New NFPA officers Brief

ORLANDO, Fla.--The National Fire Protection Association elected new officers and members of its Board of Directors at its World Safety Conference & Exposition held here June 4-8. Warren E. McDaniels of New Orleans, retired superintendent of New Orleans Fire Department, was elected to serve as chairman. Philip C. Stittleburg, of La Farge, Wisc., an attorney and La Farge fire chief, was elected as secretary. New members include Michael I. Callanan, of Upper Marlboro, Md., executive director of the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Electrical Industry; Ernest J. Grant, of Chapel Hill, N.C., a nursing education clinician at the N.C. Jaycee Burn Center; Donald Bliss, of Laconia, N.H., director of the Center for Infrastructure Expertise at the National Infrastructure Institute; and Thomas F. Norton, of Concord, Mass., chief executive officer of the Norel Service Company, a fire alarm systems company. NFPA officers who changed positions include Vincent Bollon, of Alexandria, Va., from secretary to treasurer; Thomas W. Jaeger, of Great Falls, Va., from treasurer to second vice chair; and Paul M. Fitzgerald of Holliston, Mass., from second vice chair to first vice chair.
