New niche website caters to summer sales industry

New niche website caters to summer sales industry Summersales.info aims to help with recruiting

LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Sales leaders and door-knocking companies, a new website called Summersales.info is for you, according to its founder and president, Jeremy Crane.

“We aim to be that No. 1 point of contact for anything related to the industry,” Crane told Security Systems News. “This is just a niche industry platform.”

Crane, who is based here but also travels frequently to Utah, where many summer sales companies are located, said the website caters to those involved in any type of summer sales, including pest control, dish and solar. But security is also an important focus and an industry he said he has experience in. Crane attended Brigham Young University in Utah and sold security systems while he was in college, he said.

He said the recently launched site will be a valuable tool for recruiting. “Summersales.info provides a paid job board created with the summer sales industry in mind. Jobs posted by industry leaders are free for viewing,” Crane said in a news release.

He told SSN: “As far as summer sales, I've been on the recruiting side … and there's no arena to reach out to people beyond your own efforts on Google, Craigslist, and local job boards.”

He said the site also will contain pertinent information about industry events and other news.

According to a spokeswoman for NorthStar Alarm Services, a summer sales company based in Orem, Utah that surpassed a $1 million RMR milestone in 2013 and has a link on the Summersales.info site, such a service is needed.

“I think the new site has the potential to become an extremely valuable resource for individuals looking for sales opportunities,” said Courtney Brown, marketing and public relations specialist for NorthStar, in an email interview. “This is the first online directory for sales opportunities that I have really come across, and it seems to have the right pieces in place to really be beneficial for job seekers.”

She believes it will help in recruiting. “My hope is that we see traffic coming to the NorthStar recruiting site as a result of Summersales.info. … One of the things that I love about the new site, is that job seekers can find out all of the different options available in the industry and explore each of them first before making a decision.”

Summersales.info will be available via website, iPhone app, or Android app. Crane said phase 1 of the launch now includes marketing and pushing out the apps and then phase 2 this summer will include a launch of new software “that will really help companies connect with sales reps and that will help us provide better information on equipment and products and services.” Crane declined to provide more specifics until that time.
