New Resideo Home app makes whole-home monitoring possible

AUSTIN, Texas—Resideo Technologies, Inc. recently announced the launch of the Resideo Home app which will make whole-home monitoring possible for the four critical networks of a home — water, air, energy and security. During an event for industry professional s and partners at the historic Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, the company showcased its vision for the future of the smart home and upcoming subscription services made possible by the new app.

“At Resideo, we're committed to helping homeowners make sense of their homes, and in the process, help professionals modernize and expand their businesses while giving a better experience to customers,” Mike Mefkens, president and CEO, Resideo said in the announcement. “We do not believe that the critical systems of the home should be a do-it-yourself adventure. Through the new Resideo Home app, we're going to bring the world of proactive, professional monitoring to the entire home, helping better protect the people inside and mitigating problems before they arise.”

Here's a look at Resideo's upcoming products and subscription services that will connect homeowners with professionals to make homes safer, more efficient and smarter.

Apps

Designed to provide homeowners with a simple, unified platform that connects and manages a home, Resideo will enable the migration of the company's 6.5 million connected customers, currently spread out among its existing apps, into the Resideo Home app throughout 2020.

As of December 4, 2019, users of Resideo's Buoy Whole Home Water Controller and Buoy Water Leak Detectors can use the new app, accessing its free features or upgrading to premium services. In the coming months, Resideo will integrate air products into the app as well, and by the end of 2020, the Home app will support Resideo's whole-home security systems.

The Home app looks at the entire home by offering a glimpse into how the air, water, security and energy systems are performing, offering a bright and visually rick user experience detailing insights through analytics what will help the homeowner identify energy savings, water usage and more over time.

Resideo Pro, a professional version of the app, will provide professionals with installation tools, help them better service customers through account management and service calls, and provide access to new business opportunities.

Both apps are available in the iOS and Andriod app stores.

New whole-home services

A new portfolio of connected, whole-home monitoring solutions will be accessible through the Home app. Resideo's new subscription services extend professional monitoring to other critical networks of the home, helping pros and homeowners use data already being produced to make the home work better and more efficiently.

“We're giving the entire home a pulse to help both homeowners and the trade professionals save time and resources,” said Niccolo de Masi, chief innovation officer and president of Products & Solutions, Resideo. “For most people, their home is their largest financial investment - where they live with their loved ones and keep their most precious possessions. We are proud to bring this much-needed enhanced protection to the home.”

Whole-home services include:

  • Smart water management;
  • Energy services;
  • Indoor air quality services;
  • Critical appliance monitoring services; and
  • Security services.

New tools and services for professionals

A new digital experience can help Resideo's network of 110,000 trade professionals — and their 1 million technicians — build business for the future, simplify operations and strengthen relationships with homeowners.

The Resideo Pro Portal offers a single destination for product information and support, and access to services and tools to promote and drive leads.

A new training and loyalty program, Resideo Pro PERKS, will launch in January 2020, enabling pros and distributors access to a tiered system of benefits: strategic partnerships with other Resideo pros, new marketing tools and new video courses.

Next-generation comfort platform

Resideo plans to develop its next-generation smart thermostat in partnership with professional contractors that will fully integrate with the Home app. In the plans are the launching of alpha and beta test programs with professionals in 2020.
