NFPA names four to Standards Council Brief

QUINCY,Mass.--The National Fire Protection Association board of directors has appointed four new members to the Association's Standards Council: James W. Carpenter of Plano, Texas; Ronald R. Farr of Otsego, Mich.; Roland J. Huggins of Dallas, Texas; and Fred M. Leber of Toronto, Canada. Carpenter is the CEO and executive director of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and is the chair of NFPA's Technical Correlating Committee of the National Electrical Code. Huggins is vice president of engineering and technical services for the American Fire Sprinkler Association. Leber is co-founder and chief executive officer of Leber/Rubes, Inc., a consulting engineering firm offering fire protection engineering services. Farr, fire chief/fire marshal in Kalamazoo Township, Mich., has nearly 40 years of experience with the fire service and is chair of NFPA's Technical Committee on Uniform Fire Code. The 13-member council oversees the development activities of NFPA codes and standards, administers the rules and regulations, and serves as an appeals body.
