QUINCY, Mass.--The installation of more residential fire sprinklers was among the recommendations included in a study about fires fatalities in the United States, released by the National Fire Protection Association in July.
The study reported that there were 3,900 fire fatalities in the United States in 2004. As in years past, the majority of these deaths--82 percent--occurred in homes.
