ALEXANDRIA, Va.--As it prepares to introduce a new certification in video systems design, the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies will allow approximately 100 industry professionals to take the examination for free during a beta trial.
NICET is now evaluating the exam to see how test takers respond to the organization and presentation of the questions. The sample group will help determine what is a passing score on the test. The regular $180 fee that NICET typically charges for this type of test will be waived to qualifying applicants until the end of September.
NICET designed the video security systems designer level I course for those that design and install video security systems. Designers with less than four years of experienced are encouraged to enroll for the pilot test.
A higher level certification is now underway and should be introduced sometime early next year.
Interested parties should visit the organization's web site for more information at www.nicet.org.
