MCLEAN, Va. and SUDBURY, Canada--Northern Communications and Alarm.com in March partnered to launch CareLink Advantage, a video monitoring solution that enables caregivers to remotely, but discretely, keep an eye on elderly and disabled loved ones.
According to John Whitehead, president of Northern Communications, “The timing for this couldn't be better. We've got a serious problem in Canada, and it's similar in the U.S. … we're living longer … It's only going to get worse.”
According to Pete Celano, Alarm.com vice president of assistive technology, “Everybody wants to take care of their elderly mother or their disabled brother. If you could, you'd have them live with you, but for whatever reason, we can't or don't, so it's essential to connect caregivers intimately with loved ones with tools like this.”
