OzVision names industry leader as a technical advisor

WOBURN, Mass.--Lou Fiore is a "thought leader" in the industry said Ed Mallen, chief executive officer of OzVision, which was just one reason the remote video compression technology manufacturer named Fiore as a technical advisor in February. The other reasons stem from Fiore's accomplished history in the industry, including leadership roles at the Central Station Alarm Association, the Alarm Industry Communications Committee and the Security Industry Association's Security Industry Standards Council. Fiore also works closely with the Federal Communications Commission and Congress on issues such as VoIP. OzVision, like many other ventured-backed companies who are forming business models and growing, understands the importance of getting to know people who are the thought leaders in the industry. "Clearly, Lou Fiore fits that role," Mallen said. "He's an entrepreneur, so he understands the kind of business we are creating." Mallen and OzVision's chief technology officer Timothy Root created the technical advisory board to have people with marketing, technology and consulting backgrounds as resources for discussing the company's development plans in next generation remote video surveillance solutions, as well as significant issues affecting of the industry like verified response. Foire is the first technical advisor chosen for a group that will eventually number four. OzVision plans to announce the remaining members in the coming months. With Fiore's consulting experience, Mallen said, he will be "very helpful in helping us understand the ecosystem of the industry."
