Pelco launches professional VMS for SMB

Pelco launches professional VMS for SMB Offers one-year free software license trial to users and integrators

CLOVIS, Calif.—With the introduction of VideoXpert Professional, Pelco by Schneider Electric is making it more convenient and economically practical to implement a professional Video Management System for small and medium business (SMB) applications.

Jonathan Farmer, senior product manager, Pelco by Schneider Electric, said that VideoXpert Professional is a game changer.

“The introduction of VideoXpert Professional rounds out Pelco's offering of VMS solutions that meet customers' needs—from small/mid-size applications to large-scale fully integrated applications across multiple locations and geographies,” Farmer told Security Systems News in an email response. “It provides SMB users with the ability to easily control and manage surveillance cameras with advanced features and capabilities and exceptional cost efficiency. And it's also designed for easy installation, so users can be up and running very quickly.”

To help catapult the launch, and to demonstrate the company's confidence in the product, Farmer said that Pelco is offering an “exclusive 'Control with Confidence' one-year, free software-only demo license to users and integrators for up to four channels.” Information on the licensing promotion will be available on www.Pelco.com/vxpro on July 1, 2017, the effective start date of this offer.

Farmer pointed out that VideoXpert Professional bridges the gap between mid-market and enterprise-level VMS platforms. With a selection of servers designed to handle up to 100 cameras, VideoXpert Professional delivers a VMS solution that can be modularly scaled by adding VX Pro servers to meet future system expansion needs.

“VideoXpert VMS solutions also provide a level of scalability that is refreshing for users, allowing them to expand their systems as their needs grow,” Farmer explained. “Equally important, users can augment and expand the functionality of VideoXpert to meet their specific surveillance and business intelligence objectives by integrating third party software and hardware. This platform provides VMS users with the ability to control their surveillance systems with confidence.”

Featuring Dell hardware, VideoXpert Professional users will have the added benefit of leveraging Dell support tools and apps. Advanced features include: hardware acceleration that allows users to more easily display high MP camera images; H.264 coding over WAN transport; anti-virus support on the ops center client; and simple export procedures that allow quick and easy handoff of video data to law enforcement agencies.

“Our VideoXpert VMS solutions include attributes that users want and need including an intuitive UI, robust features, a unique user experience, an unmatched level of flexibility and ease of use and installation,” Farmer said.

Available June 30, 2017, VideoXpert Professional can be ordered as software only; as Pelco-supplied hardware with channel licenses; or bundled with Pelco supplied-hardware and loaded with software and SUP. In addition, Pelco offers a powerful workstation and three server options to further enhance VideoXpert Professional.
