Police unit wins Sonitrol award

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--Sonitrol announced in August that the Charlotte County School Resource Officer Unit, a group of school police officers, received the annual Sonitrol Florida Resource Officer of the Year Award.
Presented by Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist, the award recognized the officers' efforts in the aftermath of last fall's Hurricane Charley with a plaque and a $500 check. The presentation took place during the 26th annual convention of the Florida Association of School Resource Officers here.
Sonitrol is a full-service security company with officesthroughout the United States and Canada.
