POM, others, prepare for Imette's Law Brief

NEW YORK--The City Council on March 1 passed a bill that requires nightclubs in the city to provide outdoor surveillance systems that keep watch over club entrances. Peace of Mind Technologies, an integrator specializing in the hospitality industry, has been consulting with the New York Nightlife Association during the ordinance's development and has announced itself ready to install compliant systems. POM founder John Ecker said, "Our goal is to help neighborhood businesses comply with the camera and monitor requirements in ways that are affordable to them and, at the same time, protect their customers." The bill requires club owners to hire independent monitors of the systems and will shut clubs selling fake IDs.
