PSI moves HQ closer to branch operations

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Protection Service Industries moved into new headquarters at the end of December, gaining a facility that is closer to two of its branches and brings key departments together. “It’s a better location,” said Bob Ricucci, president and chief executive officer of PSI. “It’s a better layout and allows us to enjoy some synergies that we weren’t able to before because of the layout of the prior space.” The facility is located 20 miles from PSI’s former office in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and is closer to the company’s San Diego and San Bernardino, Calif., offices. Approximately 50 people work from the new location, handling customer support and administration duties. PSI focuses on the commercial market and systems integration market, serving 25,000 customers. Though only slightly larger at 11,000 square feet, compared with 9,800 square feet previously, the office enabled the company to combine customer care and technical data into one department. Customers who were once shuffled between two departments, in separate office suites for technical support issues now have one point of contact. “It helps streamline the communication, which has a positive impact on customer service,” said Bill Romano, vice president of operations for PSI. Moving into a new facility also enabled PSI to upgrade its IT infrastructure and telecom management systems. PSI began to focus solely on the commercial and systems integration market early last year. American Home Security, a sister company that is also part of the Integrated Alarm Services Group, handles residential customers. IASG bought PSI in late 2003.
