Reinvigorated Sielox announces new name, partnership with Sonitrol

LAS VEGAS--Sielox, formerly Checkpoint Systems Access Control Products and now a subsidiary of L Q Corporation, announced here at ISC West a new sales agreement with Sonitrol whereby the integrator will brand and sell Sielox's Pinnacle Access Control solution to enterprise-level customers. "Right now," said Karen Evans, Sielox president, "[Sonitrol has] a proprietary system they sell to multi-location commercial clients, but they are the manager of the system. They wanted the client to be a self-manager." The Pinnacle product allows Sonitrol to now offer that ability. Sonitrol "spent a year or so looking at partners for their solution challenge," said Evans. "They chose us based on reliability." In other news, Sielox announced that the company will be moving its corporate offices to a new location in Runnemede, N.J. It is part of a number of new initiatives brought on by LQ's purchase of the company from the publicly held Checkpoint. Chief among them has been the return to the Sielox name, which happened in January. "One of my dealers pulled out an old shirt that he'd never given to Goodwill," laughed Evans. "Though the logo's not the same. Maybe he can get the new white lines embroidered on." For comment from Sonitrol, see the May issue of Security Systems News.
