RS2, EasyLobby integrate

MUNSTER, Ind., and NEEDHAM, Mass.--Visitor management software maker EasyLobby and access control manufacturer RS2 announced in December the availability of an add-on software module that integrates EasyLobby's Secure Visitor Management software into the RS2 Access It line of products. Further, RS2 is now an authorized dealer of EasyLobby products and will offer the integrated solution to all of its dealers and customers. "This was pretty much product driven," said Gary Staley, RS2 national sales director and a partner in the firm. "We had several requests, and we contemplated writing our own visitor management software, but reinventing the wheel isn't part of our day-to-day way of doing things." Dealers are going to need some training to sell and implement the EasyLobby software, Staley said, but "it's relatively easy training ... It's just a matter of doing a webinar with EasyLobby. It's not as easy as plug and play, but it's almost there." Late in 2006, EasyLobby announced a similar integration with S2 Security. Continental Electric Construction has already implemented the integrated RS2/EasyLobby solution at Wrigley's global innovation center on Goose Island in Chicago. "I was really kind of amazed at how easily it integrated," said Jerry Seiling, senior project manager at Continental. He said the integration didn't necessarily come from the end user: "This is something we really showed them they could have." Seiling said Continental, a $100 million contractor working throughout Illinois' Cook County, has also retrofitted EasyLobby into a similar RS2 system for Pepsi Co.
