SAFE Security gets new CFO and COO

SAN RAMON, Calif.—SAFE Security has announced a pair of management changes. Randy Perkins, vice president of operations since 2006, has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operations officer, and Jess Alvarado has been named chief financial officer (CFO).

“We are very pleased to have Jess join the SAFE executive team. His energy and background with high-growth companies are a great fit for us at this time of growth in SAFE,” said Paul Sargenti, president and CEO, in an Aug. 14 press release.

Most recently CFO of Marin Mountain Bikes, Inc., Alvarado is a licensed attorney in California and New York and was a CPA in California.

Perkins holds an MBA and has extensive experience in the security industry.  Sargenti said, “From the time Randy came to us, he embraced our expanding business model, taking it to unprecedented operational levels wile maintaining low attrition and high levels of efficiency. Under his guidance, we enhanced our customer service and operations departments, which prepared the company for recent growth that has included the addition of wholly-owned central station (SAFE Monitoring Technologies) to SAFE's platform, and the doubling of our subscriber base.”

Founded in 1988, SAFE Securities offers alarm systems, monitoring and customer support, as well as growth strategies and business services for independent alarm dealers nationwide, according to its website. SAFE in the past year embarked on what Sargenti termed “an exciting new chapter,” growing its dealer program, expanding into DIY, buying 24,000 accounts from Pinnacle Security and gaining a new equity partner. It also announced earlier this year that it had relocated its central station.
