Schurter buys Otto Heil GmbH

SANTA ROSA, Calif.--Schurter Holding, AG, a manufacturer of electronic components including fuses, circuit breakers and connectors serving many high-tech industries, announced in February the purchase of Oberursel, Germany, company Otto Heil GmbH. Terms of the deal were not released. Otto Heil was founded in the 1950s and manufacturers power connectors and cordsets. It has channel partners in Europe, the United States and Japan. Sales in 2005, said a press release, were evenly split between Europe and foreign markets. Otto Heil will continue to operate autonomously as a competence center for cord connecting products within the Schurter Group. Products were expected to be loaded into Schurter's distribution system by the end of the first quarter, with an official introduction made to channel partners in the second quarter of 2006.
