Seacoast Security moves south into New Hampshire

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - Seacoast Security, a family-owned installation company based in West Rockport, Maine, is expanding its reach into New Hampshire with a new branch here, Seacoast’s first location outside of Maine. According to Scott Haynes, Seacoast sales manager, the company decided to open a location outside Maine’s border for the first time because its account base in that area has been increasing for some time. Haynes did not specify a figure for the number of New Hampshire accounts currently held by Seacoast, but he expects expanding into the area to add to the approximately 10,000 accounts Seacoast currently services in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. “We do a lot of work in the Southern Maine area, and it also spills into the Portsmouth area, as well,” Haynes said. “We also have quite a few accounts and customers in the greater Portsmouth area.” However, due to the fact that another company was operating under the name Seacoast Security in New Hampshire, Haynes said the New Hampshire-based business will be known as Great Bay Alarms, a division of Seacoast Security of Maine. The Portsmouth branch will be a full-service location, offering sales and installation. All monitoring will continue to be handled by Seacoast’s West Rockport central station, Haynes said. According to Haynes, the company’s move into Portsmouth was also spurred by the hiring of Carl Hanselman, a former manufacturer’s representative for DSC who signed on as branch manager. “We’ve known Carl for quite a while and he has a great reputation, he’s a pretty well respected man in the industry, so it was a perfect fit,” Haynes said. Hanselman points to the Southern Maine/Seacoast New Hampshire area as a key area for Seacoast Security’s future expansion plans. “Rockingham County, the Seacoast New Hampshire area, and southern Maine is one of the best growth areas in the country, not only for residential construction but also for new businesses moving into the area,” said Hanselman. “A Portsmouth location completes Seacoast Security’s coverage of the region, allowing them to cover everything from Portsmouth to Presque Isle.”
