Seavers in, Parker up at GE Security

ALBANY, N.Y.--Charlene Begley, president and chief executive officer of GE Enterprise Solutions, based here, announced yesterday that Dean Seavers, former president of SimplexGrinnell, will take over the roles of president and chief executive officer at GE Security, effective Sept. 1. Louis Parker, currently in those roles, will now lead strategic initiatives under Lloyd Trotter, GE's vice chairman and president and chief executive of GE Industrial. GE did not make anyone immediately available for comment. Seavers will speak to the media after Labor Day. Leading GE Security, at $1.8 billion in annual sales, represents a familiar position for Seavers, who leaves a $2 billion subsidiary of the recently spun-off Tyco International and a May 31-announced position as head of Tyco International's Fire Protection Services. Seavers joined the fire and life-safety industry in 2000 as regional vice president of operations for Tyco's ADT, moving to SimplexGrinnell in 2004. One notable difference between the two companies is that GE Security does not have an installation arm, while SimplexGrinnell is one of the largest integrators of fire and security systems.
