ATLANTA - For the fourth consecutive year, Fortune magazine has recognized security services provider Barton Protective Services as one of the best places to work. The contract security service company appears in Fortune magazine’s 2003 listing of the "100 Best Companies to Work For."

"We are extremely honored to receive this recognition, which is a statement of our consistency and commitment to ensuring Barton Protective Services remains a great place to work," said Charles Barton Rice Sr., chairman of Barton Protective Services. "Our core values - trust, commitment, love, empowerment, thinking and results - have guided us for 25 years. It's fitting in our anniversary year that Barton would be named again to Fortune's prestigious list."

To earn the Fortune recognition, Barton Protective Services completed a comprehensive process that included the 31-page Hewitt People Practices Inventory Questionnaire, which gathers information about company philosophies, policies and programs.

The second component for the Fortune recognition was a random employee survey covering benefits, credibility, wages, fairness and camaraderie that is sent to the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco. The third component was the Great Place to Work Culture Audit questionnaire designed to reflect unique qualities about a company's culture.

Barton Protective Services, celebrating its 25th anniversary this month, ranked No. 86 this year. Barton Protective Services remains the only company in its industry ever to be named to Fortune’s "100 Best Companies to Work For" list.
