Security Networks to infuse base this summer

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--Security Networks expects to boost its residential customer base in the Southeast this summer thanks to an affiliation deal with APX Alarm Security Solutions. "We expect this deal will create 10- to 15,000 new customers in our Southeast region this summer," said Rich Perry, president of Security Networks. The four-month deal, terms of which were not disclosed, launched this month. Under the agreement, APX, which is based in Orem, Utah, provides a direct sales force that will fan out over Security Networks' Southeast region and sell directly to homeowners in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida. "We will own the contract, so the customers' long-term relationship for monitoring and service will be with Security Networks," Perry explained. He said the sales force, generally comprising college students, goes through a well-structured training program provided by APX. "We have other affiliates that we work with, but this is the first time we've worked with APX," said Perry. Security Networks has offices in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., and expanded into the Midwest, with a new office in Chicago, at the end of last year.
