Security sign can’t monitor

PORTSMOUTH, Va.--A recent report from FOX showed that half of the homes warning they were protected by an installed security system were, in fact, bluffing. MyFox Hampton Roads randomly checked seven homes and four of them had the sign, but no alarm system.
The FBI reports a burglary occurs every 14 seconds in America, and a home without a security system is two to three times more likely to be burglarized, according to the report.

Woody Parsons of Johns Brothers Security and said he is aware of the “sign-only, money-saver strategy.” Parsons said the sign may deter, but what happens if the burglar still enters the home? “That sign is not going to call the police for you.”
