SIA, CSAA to honor each other’s certifications

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The Central Station Alarm Association and the Security Industry Association have signed a reciprocal agreement to recognize the operator certificate issued by each other’s association.
SIA Certified Operators who have completed the SIA/APCO “Train-the-Trainer†instructor program and operators trained by certified SIA/APCO central station instructors will be entitled to a CSAA Central Station Level I online training certificate.
Graduates of the online CSAA Central Station Operator Level I course will be entitled to a SIA operator certificate if at least one person in the central station is a “Train-the-Trainer†Central Station Certified Operator/Instructor.
To receive these reciprocal certificates, a trainer must submit proper documentation on forms that are provided by both associations and pay a $10 processing fee per operator. Forms must be submitted and signed by a SIA/APCO Certified Instructor.
