SIA sponsors Securing New Ground conference

NEW YORK-The Security Industry Association has thrown its support behind the Securing New Ground conference, becoming the event's organizational sponsor by hosting a Homeland Security panel and networking reception. It marks the first time an industry association has joined the seven-year-old event as a sponsor. The conference partners include Jeff Kessler of Lehman Bros., Lessing Gold of Mitchell, Silberg & Knupp, Michael Jones of ProFinance Associates and Sandy Jones of Sandra Jones and Co. "Part of their sponsorship is hosting a panel discussion on Homeland Security," said Michael Jones, a Securing New Ground founder. "It will be interesting because they'll have representatives present information on what the government is looking for, what the private sector is looking for and what the military is looking for." The conference, themed this year as "The Business of Security," will feature speakers such as Dennis Raefield, president of Ademco Integrated Systems Group, Peter Ribinski, chief executive officer of Detection Systems, Lars Norby Johansen, chief executive officer of Group 4 Falck, Jules Kroll, chairman and chief executive officer of Kroll World Wide and others. The event will be held Nov. 13-14 at The Roosevelt Hotel in New York. Richard Chace, executive director of SIA, said the conference is a great match for SIA's members, the manufacturers and suppliers of the security industry, and should provide expanded opportunities. "It will help the suppliers and investors understand where the opportunities lie and if we're hitting our mark with our products and services," said Sandy Jones of Sandra Jones & Co.
