Siemens to install fire system in L.A. medical center

July 22, 2004 BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - Siemens Building Technologies has been selected to provide the fire detection, voice evacuation and smoke purge systems in the new Los Angeles Medical Center, a facility scheduled to open in 2007. The 912,000-square-foot facility is part of the Kaiser Permanente healthcare system and will serve as its Southern California center for cardiovascular surgery, pediatric intensive care, neurosurgery, spine surgery and high-risk pbstetrics. As part of the project, Siemens will install its XLSV FireFinder systems, fire alarm systems that also integrates digital emergency voice evacuation. The Los Angeles Medical Center is one of 30 hospitals operated by Kaiser Permanente.
