SNA celebrates 20

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.--Security Network of America (SNA), a corporation started by a group of privately owned security companies, celebrated its 20th anniversary in April. The corporation was founded in 1988. “SNA got started 20 years ago when the owners of three independent security firms had the idea that if they worked cooperatively to purchase equipment, they could compete more effectively against major national companies,” said David Carter, managing director of SNA, in a prepared statement. The number of SNA companies has grown to 35 over the years. “At the end of 2007, SNA companies served more than 560,000 customers. Collectively, they rank among the top half-dozen security providers in North America,” he said. SNA companies are shareholders and members must be privately-owned, family-operated companies.
