Sony releases DEPA for IP-based security Brief

SAN DIEGO--At the recently complete ASIS International trade show, Sony announced its Distributed & Enhanced Processing Architecture platform for IP-based security to integrate cameras and recorders as part of a video management system. Video analytics, largely motion detection and border line crossing, are built into the platform, as are image-processing capabilities that can reduce environmental noise in the video. Manufacturers including Genetec, On-Net Surveillence Systems and Agent VI (formerly Aspectus) have partnered with Sony to release DEPA-enabled products.
