C.O.P.S. purchases wholesale biz from SAI
WILLIAMSTOWN, N.J.--C.O.P.S. Monitoring announced this week the purchase of substantially all of the wholesale monitoring assets of SA Systems LLC, the parent company of Security Associates International, Inc. (SAI). SAI has transferred to C.O.P.S. Monitoring more than 900 dealer contracts representing more than 128,000 subscriber accounts.

Ray Gross, President of SAI, stated in a release that the transaction is in line with the company's strategy to focus on the provision of a full range of services to the "retail" sector of the industry. The menu of services includes inbound and outbound customer service, telephonic and on-site technical service and monitoring for a select retail dealer network. Gross further expressed confidence that their former dealers and respective customers will experience a very high level of service and satisfaction as C.O.P.S. Monitoring has been exclusively dedicated to wholesale alarm monitoring for over 30 years. "They have built a well deserved reputation for exceptional service," he added. "In addition, we have worked with C.O.P.S. Monitoring management over the past few months to develop a plan to ensure a smooth transition."

Jim McMullen, President of C.O.P.S. Monitoring, said in a statement he looks forward to welcoming these new dealers and subscribers into the C.O.P.S. Monitoring family and demonstrating both the high quality and the breadth of services available. McMullen said, "SAI is well known to the industry for their quality of service. Without a doubt, SAI established themselves as a leader in the wholesale alarm monitoring marketplace via their unique software and high level of customer service. We are confident that this new base of dealers will quickly see that C.O.P.S. Monitoring is totally dedicated to serving their needs. Over the next six months, the dealers will see vast benefits as the best practices and services of SAI are integrated into the C.O.P.S. Monitoring proprietary software platform."

C.O.P.S. Monitoring now serves more than 3,100 dealers representing more than 500,000 subscribers from three interconnected and fully redundant monitoring central stations located in New Jersey, Florida and Arizona.
