Supreme adds medical monitoring Brief

UNION, N.J.-- On July 1, Supreme Security Systems, a full-service electronic security provider, launched "Supreme Independence", a medical monitoring unit for the greater New Jersey area, according to Bob Bitton, the company's chief executive officer. "Since we had the central station and the capacity, we felt we should be doing it, " said Bitton. "We've always had two-way voice from a company we acquired many, many years ago [called HomeSafe] that was doing it as part of alarm monitoring, so it was not a difficult transition." At present, Supreme will train its existing personnel rather than take on new staff. Supreme went with the Linear system, which consists of the traditional pendant or wristwatch that subscribers wear. Sales efforts so far include marketing to Supreme's 10,000 accounts via an enclosed stuffer with billing statements and through direct mail sent to subscribers' residences.
