Total Recall gains IT expertise, expects to grow its market share

VALLEY COTTAGE, N.Y. - After offering customers IT related services such as data security and networked based solutions through outsourcing the past couple of years, Total Recall Corp. has brought that expertise in-house and is now poised for growth. In the next few months, the systems integration company expects to move into a new 18,000 square-foot headquarters in neighboring Suffern, N.Y. The hiring of additional staff in sales and its technical department is anticipated to follow by early next year. “The company is growing and we are crammed for space,” said Jordan Heilweil, president and a founder of Total Recall. “It’s time to take the next step to give us additional resources and ability.” The new location, about three times the size of its current facility, will feature a demonstration and training area to show customers products and the opportunity to interface with systems first hand. It also includes additional warehouse and technical space. Though the new headquarters provides Total Recall with more room to hire additional people, the company has already started bringing new expertise onboard by hiring two key employees. Late last year Jerry Bowman joined the company as vice president of business development and William Cross came onboard as director of operations. The company, owned by Heilweil, Frank Giunta, and Richard Heilweil, currently employs 15 about people. The two bring experience in different areas. Bowman has both a security and IT background, while Cross is experienced in managing large projects. “Jerry is a unique talent in that he has the security background and he has the technical, IT background,” said Heilweil. “Typically people speak the security language and IT people speak IT. Jerry is able to act as a translator and is comfortable in both domains.” Up until recently Total Recall offered networking services through outsourcing work to Bowman. After two years of working together, Bowman joined the Total Recall team. “We’re able to do a turnkey solution for IP and network based products,” said Bowman. What sets Total Recall apart from others is its solutions-based approach. Instead of just offering a security system, the company will custom design one to fit the customers’ needs and integrate it with other systems. The addition of Bowman and Cross also gives Total Recall a presence in Ohio, where the two are based.
