UCC promotes Tracey Ritchie to GM

PITTSBURGH—United Central Control of San Antonio, Texas, announced at the ESX show here that Tracey Ritchie, formerly sales and marketing director of UCC, has been named GM, effective immediately. She takes over the role from company president Teresa Gonzalez who had been performing both presidential and general manager duties.

Of her promotion, Ritchie felt pleased and humble: “I've been with UCC for eight years and I'm really excited to be working with them in this capacity. I'm really looking forward to working with them to move UCC to the next level,” Ritchie said. “Not a lot of drastic changes at the moment. We don't have a lot on the horizon. We've been changing and expanding and we're just trying to be sure we're taking care of our customers.”

UCC account executive Chancy Pray said the choice of Ritchie to take over GM duties from Gonzalez was a no-brainer. “Our former general manager was Teresa Gonzalez and about two years ago Teresa was made president and, obviously, in order to increase our performance internally and make it a better organization, the company looked for someone to take on those duties and Tracey was an obvious choice. She's been with the company for a long time, has been an integral part of our growth. There was no more qualified person in the company than Tracey.”

UCC account executive Danny Little felt Ritchie's elevation harkened good things for the company and its customers. “Tracey's obviously a very successful and success-driven person, so I think this will be a huge compliment for her and for the company as well,” Little said. “I foresee big things for her and for UCC.”

Ritchie said it would be business as usual at UCC. “Instead of implementing new plans we want to be sure we're following through with all of our plans we've been working on,” she said. “There's a lot of projects we have going and I'm in charge of being sure those get done.”

UCC, formed 27 years ago, is a UL-listed, CSAA Five Diamond-certified central station with around 200,000 monitored residential and commercial accounts.

Ritchie a year ago was nominated by her peers and selected by the staff of Security Systems News for inclusion in SSN's annual 20 under 40 list. You can nominate someone for the 2010 list right now through July 1 at http://vovici.com/wsb.dll/s/3cdcg2920a.
