Ultra-Scan signs new pact with ComnetiX

AMHERST, N.Y. - Ultra-Scan Corp., based here, recently teamed up with ComnetiX Computer Systems of Toronto to market Ultra-Scan’s line of patented ultrasonic fingerprint readers. Under the terms of the multi-year licensing agreement, ComnetiX will market, integrate, and distribute Ultra-Scan’s line of ultrasonic fingerprint readers, as well as AFIS fingerprint matching software and related technologies to law enforcement and public safety customers, as well as other markets. Edward Escubedo, president and chief executive officer of ComnetiX, said that he felt that Ultra-Scan’s fingerprint readers was “the best for accuracy, and usability.” Michael Rohleder, executive vice president of Ultra-Scan, said he is pleased with the new partnership with ComnetiX. “ComnetiX transmitted the first-ever ten-print finger image card in New York state, we (now) have a partner with first-hand knowledge of the demands placed on biometric technology for high-end applications, (such as) public security and law enforcement,” said Rohleder.
