Vector acquires Cain Security

Vector acquires Cain Security Seller sought new owner that understands needs of affluent clients base

PITTSBURGH, Pa.--Vector Security added 4,000 high-end residential accounts with the acquisition, announced Nov. 10, of Cain Security. Located in Alexandria, Va., Cain Security has been in business for 30 years and caters to an account base of “athletes and politicians, a who’s who in the Capitol area,” said Vince DiValerio, vice president of acquisitions for Vector Security. Terms of the deal were not announced. The former owners, Ron and Beth Cain, are retiring, and wanted to ensure that their clients, most of whom had been with them for many years, would continue to be well served, DiValerio said. “The [Cains] are people who built their reputation in the community, not only as business people, but as service providers,” DiValerio explained. The Cains agreed to sell their business to Vector, which also started as a high-end residential security provider, he said, because the two companies share a commitment to customer service. When Cain’s clients require service, “they expect same-day service,” and they expect to see the same faces they’ve come to know over the years, he said. As part of the acquisition, Vector is retaining all of Cain’s employees and its office in Alexandria. DiValerio said the company will eventually be rebranded as Vector, but, as is Vector’s custom with rebranding, it will be a slow and deliberate transition.
