Vicon and Verint partner on IP Dome Camera

HAUPPAUGE and MELVILLE, N.Y.--Vicon Industries and Verint Systems, designer and producers of video surveillance systems, announced this week that Vicon has integrated its SurveyorVFT camera with Verint's Nextiva IP video platform, launching a new IP camera called the Nextiva S2800e. The Nextiva S2800e combines industry-leading Verint encoding technology with the Vicon SurveyorVFT camera dome to deliver a high-performance IP PTZ camera with high-performance imagery, lower network bandwidth utilization, and full integration with the Nextiva video management portfolio. "We have witnessed the preference for SurveyorVFT domes in demanding, high-profile installations for many years, both in cases where our own ViconNet software is in use, as well as in situations where other manufacturers' software is controlling the system. We are pleased that our new partnership with Verint will make our domes available to the growing sector of the marketplace that is requiring direct IP connectivity from their cameras and, as in this case, working in an open platform environment," said Bret McGowan, Vicon's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, in a statement. "We are pleased to add Vicon's SurveyorVFT dome camera into the line of IP cameras that we offer today," said Jim Clark, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Verint Video Intelligence Solutions, in a statement. "Verint technology integrated with Vicon's SurveyorVFT dome cameras will help provide enhanced video compression technology, superior image quality and reduced total cost of ownership."
