Vicon welcomes Mark Provinsal as vice president, Marketing and Product Management

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.—Vicon Industries Inc., a designer and producer of integrated IP video surveillance and access control systems, on Jan. 6 announced the appointment of Mark S. Provinsal to Vicon's executive ranks as vice president, Marketing and Product Management. In this newly created position, which reports directly to Vicon's CEO, Ken Darby, Provinsal will assume responsibility for all company marketing and product management functions.

Provinsal, who has over 10 years of executive industry experience, was previously the EVP of Dedicated Micro's USA, a UK based security products company. Prior to that, as that company's VP, Marketing and Product Strategy, Provinsal was responsible for marketing and product strategy for the Americas, brand development and strategic consulting for global product development.

“As Vicon continues to establish itself as a leader in IP video solutions, we are thrilled to have someone of Mark's caliber providing strategic direction and vision for our marketing and product development efforts,” said Ken Darby, Vicon CEO.

“Vicon has an excellent industry reputation and is well positioned for growth in the security market,” said Provinsal. “This is a world-class organization, committed to providing exceptional value for its customers, and I couldn't be more excited to join Ken Darby and his team.”

In other management changes at Vicon, Bret McGowan, who previously held the title of vice president, U.S. Sales and Marketing, will now serve as vice president, Sales. In this role, he will expand his sales responsibilities to include oversight of all of North and South America and the Pacific Rim and also spearhead the company's business development efforts.
