Virtual seminar addresses sprinkler installations in high-rise buildings

DALLAS--The American Fire Sprinkler Association is hosting a virtual seminar on Friday, Nov. 11 aimed at contractors, designers, manufacturers, suppliers, building owners and others involved with the installation of sprinklers in high-rise buildings. The seminar will address the National Fire Protection Association standard for the sprinkler system most commonly used in high-rise buildings. That standard, NFPA 14, is the Standard for the Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems. The speaker, Steven Scandaliato, is a principal partner with Scandaliato Design Group, Inc. and a NICET IV Certified Senior Engineering Technician. Scandalito's been in the fire industry for 19 years and has experience at every level of construction project management and engineering system design. The seminar, which takes place via telephone, with additional material available online, will address specific design issues and applications that are major features of standpipe systems.
