WFI to deploy wireless networks in shopping centers Brief

SAN DIEGO--In August, Wireless Facilities Inc., a provider of wireless communications networks and security systems, was chosen by Westfield America to deploy IP-based wired and wireless networks in 26 of Westfield's U.S. shopping centers.
WFI's Building Optical Network will deliver wireless services via a WLAN and fixed data network for the Westfield properties. The BON is a centralized digital network designed to deliver a myriad of tenant services, such as building automation, digital surveillance, access control and other building services.
The installation of the networks will begin immediately in phases and is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2005.
