I mentioned in my May 27 blog post that a senior ADT sales executive had joined Protection One and wondered about Tim Whall’s plans for the sales operation.

I wasn’t naming any names, since I haven’t had a chance yet to meet or talk to the executive in question and didn’t have any official confirmation about his potential new role in the new Tim Whall regime at Pro One, but look what Pro One just announced:

Pro One CEO and president Tim Whall just named Bob Dale, who most recently (up until about 6 or 8 weeks ago) was SVP of commercial sales at ADT, as Pro One’s new SVP of commercial and residential sales. He’ll lead Pro One’s residential, commercial and national account teams.

In a prepared statement, Whall said: “Bob is an outstanding addition to the Protection One team. He brings over 26 years experience leading the largest sales organization in the industry. He is recognized for his unprecedented leadership and ability to deliver explosive growth.”

Whall continued: “Bob cares deeply about his customers and his sales teams. His passion and energy produce satisfied customers and attracts new ones. Those are two things we are committed to deliver on at Protection One.”

And from Dale, in a prepared statement: “I am thrilled to join Protection One at such an exciting time in the industry and the company. The growth opportunity at Protection One is phenomenal given our national footprint and our ability to service the customer. The goal is simple – we want to offer the best customer experience – period. National Account customers have unique and specific needs. Both Tim and I share an obsession for delivering on that. Protection One has a solid platform and an ideal structure to serve the needs of multi-location customers. I am excited looking at the future growth within Protection One.”

More background on Dale from the release:

Dale began his career with ADT in 1983 as a Commercial Sales Representative and subsequently held several managerial positions, including National Account Manager, Sales Manager, General Manager, and Regional General Manager. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/ Marketing from the University of Louisville. Dale is active in his community and was selected for the Peace Award, which is an annual award given by the Hubbard House, the primary Jacksonville, Fla., abused women’s shelter. He will continue to reside with his wife Lisa and children in Jacksonville, Fla.

I’ve got calls in, so hope to have more on Pro One for Thursday’s wire. The GTCR Pro One deal was finalized on Friday. Here’s a brief on that.

By the way, I’m blogging from the sky right now. I’m on my way to Las Vegas for the NFPA Expo, and U.S. Air decided to offer Wifi free today. So I’m trying it out. I’ve got mixed feelings about being available online all the time, but it’s certainly novel right now.

Tim Whall is an absolute genius in the alarm industry. I worked for Tim at Securitylink and he is not afraid of getting the job done. I admire Tim Whall and one day hope to work with him again. And on a side note, Jim Covert another genius in the business of alarms has the tenacity of a bulldog and is not afraid to make things happen and gets what he wants everytime. Major respect to both of these fine gentleman. Good luck Tim and Jim with Protection One I know you will turn things around you guys always do!
