SILVER SPRING, Md.--Through a sub-contract partnership with Chugach McKinley, USProtect announced in August that it began providing security guard services at the Ventura County U.S. Naval Base in California.

Chugach McKinley, headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, is a native-owned corporation of roughly 6,200 employees that provides a variety of services--including construction, education and transportation--to government clients.

The contract is valued at $16 million and went into effect on July 1. NBVC provides airfield, seaport and base support services to fleet operating forces and shore activities.

USProtect, which has its headquarters here, provides guard services to U.S. agencies and contractors in more than 100 locations in the United States and abroad.

Under the terms of the contract, USProtect will provide armed guard personnel, security equipment and site access oversight.

The firm will also serve as a first responder, in conjunction with Navy personnel, in emergencies on the navel base.
