Emergency phones from Talk-A-Phone are equipped with an LED indicator for the hearing impaired, has raised lettering and Braille characters for patrons with impaired vision. If a patron needs assistance, then he or she can apply minimal pressure to the metal emergency button. The system can use regular phone lines or analog PBX. The unit has an auto-answer feature that enables personnel to monitor and initiate calls into the elevator. ADA-compliant area of rescue command units can accommodate and control up to 16 areas of rescue stations.
