Axis Communications introduces AXIS 295 Video Surveillance

The new AXIS 295 Video Surveillance Joystick USB device is specifically designed for responsive and accurate control of all Axis pan/tilt/zoom and dome network cameras. It features a three-axis, durable (Hall-effect) joystick with X/Y-axis for positioning and turning knob for zoom and 12 programmable push-buttons. The AXIS 295 integrates seamlessly with any video surveillance software that supports Axis cameras and joystick inputs via Microsoft's DirectX. It's easy to install, by just connecting the joystick to the USB port and control the Axis cameras.

GeoVision launches GV-1120/1240/1480 Combo Card

The GV-Combo Card features live audio/video recording, real-time display, TV output support, and I/O interface. It supports remote control, remote playback, and remote monitoring over Webcam, and remote viewing via 3G, PDA and mobile. Card types include: PCI Express (Dsub) and PCI Standard (Dsub / DVI). The specifications are: video & audio inputs: 8/12/16 channels; recording rate: 120/240/480 FPS; display rate: 480 FPS; compression: Geo H264, Geo MPEG4 (ASP), MPEG-4, Wavelet. Video Domain Technologies adds MemoCam DVR series

Video Domain Technologies' D-V58/CELL is a standalone miniature DVR with integrated advanced video motion detection, supporting cellular communication and sleep mode. It records on removable SD cards. Cellular communication capabilities enable notification via cellphone/e-mail whenever there is an event, with option of JPEG image attachments. Recording is selective and triggered by VMD, reducing storage space required. When in sleep mode, it draws only 10mA, enabling battery-powered operations in remote sites.

Amseco offers new people counter

Amseco launches a new Potter Brand VDP-100 video eye people counter, which uses both a camera and a unique algorithm to accurately distinguish between multiple people entering or exiting at the same time. The VDP-100 is more accurate and easier to install than traditional reflector-based people counters and also allows the user to attach a monitor or video recording device for extra security purposes.

EverFocus Electronics launches EDR1640

The EverFocus EDR1640 is a 16-channel TCP/IP-ready, real time (480IPS) DVR that utilizes MPEG4 compression to deliver high quality images and industry-leading recording time. The EDR1640 comes standard with two hot-swappable hard drives and is expandable to 25TB of HDD storage. Video can be easily archived to removable media via USB 2.0, optional DVD/CD burner, HDD docking station, or TCP/IP. A self diagnostic program is included to ensure the health of the DVR and HDDs.

Aiphone Corp. AX Series

Aiphone introduces the AX Series system, which offers seamless integration into existing security components including: CCTV, electronic access control and PBX systems. Supporting up to eight master stations and 120 door stations, it's all wired on CAT-5e cable and is PC programmable, which makes system communication and functionality set up a snap. The WZ20, by Extreme CCTV, brings together 550 TVL high-resolution LXR imaging, the latest advances in mechanical filter CCD technology and ultra efficient dealer-friendly design. Matco releases new compression card

Matco's new DVRC-TI series DVR card has an on board digital signal processor that compresses the input video signals into H.264 format. The H.264 file is only 1/3 the size of MPEG-4, from 3G to HD and everything in between.
