Mitsubishi unveils new generation of DVRs

Building upon its enterprise-class DX-TL5000U DVR, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America has announced a new generation of DVRs that boost hard drive recording capacity and ease of use. The new DX-TL5000U features up to 150 percent more recording capacity and a new user interface. The new generation comes in three storage capacities, 1, 1.6 and 2 Terrabytes. With 16 cameras connected in standard mode at one frame per second, the largest model will hold 69 days of footage.

Zandar issues FusionPro Multiviewer

The new FusionPro Multiviewer from Zandar can handle up to 26 computer or video sources. It offers image quality and resolutions of up to WUXGA and 1080p. The Multiviewer features the Z-Configurator, a layout configuration software package and an optional Zandar Dual Head, which has the ability to drive two displays as a virtual monitor wall.

GE unveils new digital management software

SymSecure, GE's new digital video management software, provides a way to manage, configure and control video security from any location. It uses IP-networking technology and works with GE's SymSuite MPEG-4 digital video products, allowing users to continue using legacy analog equipment within an IP environment.
The system supports up to 1,000 cameras, including as many as 20 PTZ control protocols, with built-in support for major access control systems.

Bosch VIDOS software added

Bosch Security Systems has added the VIDOS Pro Software Suite to its VIDOS Video Management System for IP-based CCTV surveillance installations. The modular suite makes VIDOS scalable to different-sized applications, extending the abilities of the VIDOS system. It can now create a brand-new CCTV system or migrate an analog system to IP. The software allows various user authorization levels, privilege allocation for different cameras and priorities for PTZ control, image viewing and playback.

QNAP releases Turbo Station

QNAP Systems' Turbo Station is a nine-in-one NAS server for mobile business parties, family and SOHO users. The server provides a built-in P2P download station, personal web server, mutli-media station and printer server. The server also comes with three data protection mechanisms, 500 GB of storage, and three USB 2.0 slots while supporting both the Windows and MAC operating systems.

Toshiba's new IP Network PTZ camera

The Toshiba IK-WB21A is an IP network camera offering PTZ capability, SXVGA resolution (1280 x 960) and "at the camera" recording with a memory card slot. It has panning speed of 300 degrees per second and tilts at 200 degrees per second. Optical zoom is 22x, and the camera connects to the network by 10/100T-base Ethernet. Transmission approaches 30 frames per second, and users can control the PTZ from a standard web browser without additional software or plug-ins.

SecureLink Visual Sentry's DynaView Digital Matrix

SecureLink announces the newest development from Visual Sentry: the DynaView Digital Matrix. DynaView allows surveillance video to be instantly routed to any computer on the network based on alarms, card swipes or other inputs. The DynaView also allows a map-based interface with icons for cameras, alarm devices and building controls, using simple JPEG or GIF images for the map. DynaView dynamically increases the functionality and ease-of-use of the Visual Sentry Network Video Recording System.
