International Fibers Systems, a division of GE Security, has introduced the DE7200 Series 2 Port Ethernet Fiber Optic Transceivers, capable of transmitting either 10Mps or 100Mbps Ethernet data 2 over multimode or single-mode optical fiber ports or electrical. The initial series run will include five models offering different multimode and single-mode optical ports. The series can be used with any Ethernet transport system, but was designed to increase usefulness of legacy products when used with the EtherNav managed switch in a VLAN.

The ioProx card reader line from Kantech has a new receiver and transmitter solution. The unit provides range of up to 80 feet from buildings to parking facilities. Users press the button on the ioProx transmitter, which can fit on a key chain. The unit uses radio-frequency technology secured with encrypted coding. The transmitter is available with an optional embedded ioProx tag, which equips the unit to also work with the ioProx reader, making it a solution for customers who need to access both a parking facility and an office building.
