Amseco rolls out colored light strobes

Amseco’s colored light strobes are designed for severe weather warning, active device warning or to signal an all-clear notification alternative. The strobes feature four color lens models: amber, blue, green and red and comes in 24VDC, 120VAC with field selectable candela and sounder. Strobes are available in wall, ceiling and outdoor models and can be used as a stand-alone device or can be integrated into your system.

Gamewell’s SmartLink fire alarm network

The Gamewell Co.’s SmartLink Peer-to-Peer Fire Alarm Network interface allows up to 250 Gamewell 600 Series fire alarm panels to be linked as a network in a matter of hours. The SmartLink Network

features a self-healing network architecture capability with NFPA Class A Style 7 network cabling. Other features include panel to panel cross-programming, Smart-Start automatic self-configuration, and interoperability with other building systems.

FCI introduces addressable modules

Fire Control Instruments will introduce its new line of Multi-input and Multi-output Addressable Modules at ASIS 2003. Each module contains several individually addressable and programmable input/output points. The new modules offer a cost-effective and time-saving alternative to typical addressable modules because users can monitor and control several points from a single location. The modules are ideal for retrofit applications and new construction.

Siemens adds audio to FireFinder detector system

Siemens Building Technologies, Fire Safety Division has integrated a range of audio capabilities into its recently introduced FireFinder intelligent fire detector system, providing customers with music, paging and a large interface screen.

Johnson Controls expands building integration

Johnson Controls has added a life-safety system that can control smoke during a fire through its Metasys building management system.

The Metasys integrates traditional environmental systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire alarm and security to allow a building to “respond” to a fire alarm. The solution can be configured as a standalone building control network or a sub-network that ties into a larger IT network in a building.

Silent Knight introduces analog/addressable fire panel

Silent Knight has rolled out its IFP-50 intelligent analog/addressable fire panel, which features two notification circuits that can be programmed for notification output.

The panel also features drift compensation, a built-in dual line digital fire communicator, Form C trouble relay and two programmable Form C relays. The system uses standard wire, so shielded or twisted pair are not required.

Ansul releases carbon dioxide extinguishers

Ansul Inc., a business unit of Tyco Fire & Security, has introduced two new high-pressure carbon dioxide wheeled fire extinguishers. The extinguishers are designed to protect areas where Class B (flammable liquids and gases) or Class C (energized electrical equipment) fires could occur.

Both models include upright positive on-off operation with squeeze-grip activation. The discharge valve and shock-resistant horn keep static electricity to a minimum. The extinguishers are available with either one or two pressurized DOT/TC-approved steel cylinders filled with carbon dioxide.

System Sensor debuts SpectrAlert P121015K

System Sensor has
released the SpectrAlert P12015K, a 120-volt wall-mount horn/strobe that is UL-listed for outdoor environments. The P12015K was developed for use in a sprinkler system to provide a visual reference to the alarm location, in addition to the audible alarm provided by a bell.

The P12015K includes a universal mounting plate for four-inch and single gang-back box mounting. It also features field-selectable horn tones and a low-profile design.

Gamewell unveils the 600-Series compatible SmartView package

The Gamewell Co. has introduced SmartView, a computer graphics interface package for use with the company’s 600 Series of addressable fire alarm control panels.

SmartView, presents information through a color, graphical menu system and operates over a high-speed Ethernet LAN/WAN or single-user network. Each alarm is exhibited on a display or a floor plan pinpointing the alarm’s location, as well as additional point-specific information.
