Tom McNeil, former middle linebacker and team captain for the Purdue University football team with security industry experience at United Central Control and CMS, is the new VP of sales for Security Partners, where he will oversee the company’s national sales force. Security Systems News caught up with McNeil in Chicago to ask him five questions.

Five Questions: Marty Borer

Marty Borer, 36, is the new general manager of Quick Response, a 24/7 monitoring company for security and burglary, fire, PERS and two-way voice monitoring. Before joining the company, based in Cleveland, he worked in operational management and IT, and, also, previously ran a dry cleaning business. Joining a security company fulfilled his desire to widen his skillset, he said. Security Systems News caught up with Borer to ask him five questions.

Melissa Hansen, the director of training for COPS Monitoring in Williamstown, N.J., started her career with the wholesale monitoring provider as a dispatcher 19 years ago. She now oversees COPS’ complete training program across its six central stations, including educating new employees, CSAA Five Diamond certification, proprietary training for dispatchers, customer service and disaster preparedness instruction. She also is one of this year’s Security System News’ 20 under 40 winners. In early January, Security Systems News caught up with Hansen and asked her five questions.

Chad Swain is the new general manager of Protection 1’s Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, markets. His experience elsewhere ranges from commercial sales and installation manager to executive sales trainer, senior vice president of sales and regional general manager. Swain also owned and operated his own company as a manufacturer and distributor of security products including video, IP and HD cameras and DVRs. In November, Security Systems News caught up with Chad and asked him five questions.

Jack Johnson is Securadyne Systems’ new director of strategic sales. Previously, he was co-founder and VP of sales and marketing for Intelligent Access Systems of North Carolina, which was acquired by Securadyne in 2014. He also was co-founder of Entry Systems Inc., which specialized in nationwide sales, service and deployment of hotel locking systems. He has more than 35 years of experience in the industry. In October, Security Systems News caught up with Jack and asked him five questions.

Josh Cummings recently was promoted to director, engineering services, for Minneapolis-based VTI Security. He is charged with engaging and coordinating the engineering activity in all VTI offices. He will report to Rick Allan, chief technology officer, and they will identify best practices, lead VTI’s technology decisions and guide the technical training needs for the company.
