PSA updates course offerings

DENVER - As part of plans to provide more training to members, PSA Security Network has begun updating its access control and CCTV classes that are available online.

Other improvements at PSA include updating the online database of between 300 and 450 courses that include links by category, vendor and date and adding online business and technical courses.

HOUSTON - As part of its quest to build its presence in Texas and then later nationally, venture capital firm Sweetwater Ventures recently marked its first foray in the commercial installation market by buying Security Installation Services.

The transaction is the first for the venture capital firm outside of the residential security market.

PITTSBURGH - To fill out its portfolio of security and sound system services, systems integrator The Comm Group has acquired one-time competitor BPS Systems.

The acquisition of the neighboring company proficient in telephone and intercom systems and experienced in security and fire systems was completed in early January for an undisclosed price.

CHICAGO - Now that systems integrator Integrated Access Systems has established a presence in the East, the company is setting its sights westward with a recently opened office in Chicago.

The new location could be just one of several for the security company in the near future as it looks to broaden its reach and expand service to customers with multiple locations.
