SARNIA, Ontario - In an effort to increase its presence in the residential security market, Damar Security Systems has begun offering an automated notification service for working parents whose school-age children arrive home to an empty house.

The program, called Latch Key Kids, tracks a specific user’s exit and entry through a monitored security system using a user identification number associated with an individual’s access code.

Counterforce Adds accounts to its portfolio

HOUSTON - Counterforce USA, a security services provider here, has expanded its geographic reach through the acquisition of Acceptance Alarm, a Detroit-based residential alarm company.

Counterforce, a subsidiary of Chubb, acquired the assets of Acceptance Alarm at the end of March - adding approximately 400 accounts to its portfolio, for an undisclosed sum.

Stealth Alarms offers monthly alarm contract

CALGARY, Alberta - Stealth Alarms, a full-service alarm provider throughout Canada, has announced the end of long term contracts to its alarm service and the beginning of a month-to-month contract.

The program will require customers to place a down payment, which Stealth Alarm president Brad Morrison expects to be approximately $200, an administrative fee that turns into a monitoring credit after one year.
