TORONTO - Bioscrypt, a provider of identity verification technology, has acquired a fingerprint matching algorithm technology from Arete Associates for $1 million.

Bioscrypt had previously licensed the algorithms, which is a recognition technology based on finger pattern analysis, under an exclusive licensing agreement with Arete - adding up to $3.

Tour Andover Controls brings building automation businesses together

BOSTON - Four months after Schneider Electric purchased Andover Controls, it has merged the building automation company with its other business in that sector - TAC - and given both a new identity.

Now both companies will be known as Tour Andover Controls - a name that draws from a previous identity of TAC, Tour & Andersson Controls, and the brand recognition of Andover Controls.

NEW YORK - Branching out from its headquarters in Australia, intelligent video provider iOmniscient has opened its first office here.

The New York office, which opened in the second half of 2004, allows the company to address sales opportunities in North America and support the company’s various resellers and OEMs in a sales and technical role.
