PORTLAND, Ore.—Thermal imaging manufacturer Flir Systems announced Aug. 16 their intent to acquire ICx Technologies, a company that has merged a number of smaller companies in a short amount of time and manufactures a number of threat-detection technologies, including those targeting bio-hazard, nuclear, and explosive materials.

MINNEAPOLIS - Consulting firm Emprimus, which has been working over the past two years to raise awareness about the threat of electronic pulse weapons, has now moved beyond consulting and integration services and is offering hardware that both detects electromagnetic pulses and protects against their damaging effects.
"We've gone back to the drawing board,' said Jim Danberg, director of security and continuity. "We've got much more scalable solutions for the problem now.'

RESTON, Va.—Video solution developer Cernium on July 27 announced it has entered into a partnership with electronic security systems integrators cooperative PSA Security Network. The partnership brings Cernium's CheckVideo product to PSA integrators for resale, and is part of a larger video monitoring infrastructure that includes a bank partner for financing and G4S' central station for monitoring.

CLOVIS, Calif.—Pelco CEO Dean Meyer has a new job: executive vice president, Buildings Business, at Schneider Electric, where he’ll be responsible for day-to-day operations of one of five business centers at the global firm. Meyer’s role at Pelco will not be replaced, which emphasizes, he said, the tighter integration that Pelco will have with the Buildings business. Further, he said, this will allow Chris Curtis, president and CEO of the Buildings Business, to be more strategic.
