VA approves grant for new fire system

WASHINGTON - Massachusetts will be the recipient of a Department of Veterans Affairs grant that has been conditionally approved to outfit the Chelsea Soldier’s Home with a new fire alarm system.

The grant will pay for 65 percent of the fire alarm system’s total cost, which is about $10.

WASHINGTON - Dignitaries visiting Washington as the official guest of the President will have little idea of the whirlwind fire installation project that a local fire design firm recently completed to upgrade the life safety system at the Blair House.

The project, which was conducted by Antronnix, was completed in three days with two shifts of 16 installers each, normally a job that would have taken three to five weeks.
