HARTFORD, Conn. - A bill requiring all Connecticut nursing home facilities to install an automatic fire extinguishing system by July 1, 2005, failed to make it out of the Senate following passage within the state’s House of Representatives.

Hughes Assoc. adds Kleinsorg Group as subsidiary

BALTIMORE - Fire protection design and consulting group Hughes Associates Inc. has joined forces with The Kleinsorg Group, a California-based fire protection, risk management and engineering firm specializing in the energy and power industries, under a merger deal that makes The Kleinsorg Group a wholly owned subsidiary of Hughes.

WATERBURY, Conn. - Superior Fire Protection, a 5-year-old fire sprinkler system company, was scheduled to move to larger headquarters this month in a 16,500-square-foot building in Naugatuck, Conn.

WASHINGTON - Six additional members of the U.S House of Representatives have signed on to HR 1824, a bill that seeks to provide tax incentives for the installation of automatic sprinkler systems, according to the American Fire Sprinkler Association.
